As far as indie albums in the 2010's and beyond go, this is one of the most cohesive and emotive albums I've experienced looking back on it and is Jay Som's best album tokyonoir

This album rips. I’ve passed on Japandroids for several years since discovering Polyvinyl Records, and I have to admit I regret that decision immensely. This album is fast, furious, and a LOT of fun. Kirk Gauthier
Portland shoegaze that plays, as the best representatives of the genre do, with huge, hollow atmosphere against intimate observations. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 23, 2016
Noisy, unsettling experimental pop in turns touching and political. From now until 3/5, 50% of proceeds go to Planned Parenthood/ACLU. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 8, 2017
Tenured punk Dan Sartain ditches the guitars in favor of midnight-blue synths and robotic rhythms on this album of minimalist synthpop. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 18, 2016

There’s something both deeply familiar yet utterly fresh about the music of Generationals. Their sound harkens back to the pop music of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, but the polished quality gives it a completely different texture. From front to back, this is an absolutely thrilling and joyous listening experience. Kirk Gauthier

What a fun, engaging album. A very dynamic mix of airy, dreamy indie pop and pounding, energetic indie rock. You’d think these two styles would clash, but they meld perfectly in these ten songs. With such a broad scope of pop and rock styles on display here, there’s a little something for everyone to enjoy. Kirk Gauthier
